The three-salmon appetizer is second only to the salmon entrée.
The chef at Cyrano’s turns out spectacular dishes that are affordable and right-sized for every course. From the cheese plate and lobster bisque to the coq au vin and chocolate moose, everything is mouth watering. The only thing holding this cozy bistrot back is uneven service. Still, it’s one of the best French restaurants I’ve tried in Chicago so far, and Tammy and I plan to wander in more often.

The honey pannacotta with raspberries was the perfect combination of sweet and tart.
Have you ever used that fancy little spoon they give you at fine dining establishments to clean your plate because the food was so good that you didn’t want to miss a morsel? At Veritas in midtown Manhattan, I unabashedly used mine to scrape away during every course. To my credit, I didn’t actually lick my plate, but I came close. The Red Velvet Cake was the highlight of our meal.
A lot has changed at Dine since the last time we were there. Certain “classic” dishes, like the mushroom risotto, are still on the menu. But a new executive chef is at the helm, and the food is not the same. Neither is the service. Is Dine still worth a visit?
