Brown Sugar Libertine Rock Here is a version of Brown Sugar recorded live by Libertine Rock sometime in the late 70's... I am playing a Fender Jazz bass through Peavey 600 watt amp with a dual 15" speaker bottom with black widow speakers. This was recorded live at El Tejon just off from State street down town Madison Wisconsin...fun times.... This was recorded with a Tascam 8 track and my copy was on cassette.I am lucky to still have a copy... There was a high quality in the converters on those old decks. I am not sure which guitar gear i used or what guitar on this one. It was suggested by a friend last week to be a great tune to play again so here it is. I used the trusty Music Man Sterling bass, doing a little slapping of the strings run DI  through a rock bass patch from the Roland R-880. I used the 5129 Gretch guitar for the background guitar and a Fender pro players Stratocaster for lead. I was lazy and ran through the processor DI in rather than setting up one of my amps. Cubas ... All the guitars were processed through the Roland R-880 drum machine. The 880 has all the gt-6 guitar effects which makes it a cool machine. This instrumental is to test the Breedlove Atlas Series Studio 250/CR nylon string guitar that I recently purchased. I borrowed a couple lines from Cottage Cheese which is one of my all time favorite rock tunes,that tune influenced me the most as a young rock bass player and should be on the school of rock to learn list for all bass players. This recording was taken from an old cassette and ran through some T-Racks mastering software to clean it up a little. We recorded this live from downtown Madison WI. just off from State Street at the El Tejone Bar. I played a Jazz bass with Rotosound round wound strings through a 600 watt peavey head and a dual 15" black Widow speaker bottom, it was a hot rig at the time.
