Victor Cajiao is the host of three great podcasts; Typical Mac User, Typical PC User and Immigration Tales. When I sat down with Victor for a chat at the Podcast & Portable Media Expo, he had just finished a fun and fascinating 40 minute interview with author Tee Morris. We were all inelegantly perched in beanbag “chairs” in the Microsoft Vista sponsored lounge. As ironic as it was that Microsoft sponsored a room at a podcast conference – given that they don't support podcasting in any of their products even though they have had the chance in Vista, Windows Media 11 and the spectacularly incompatible Zune – we kicked the irony up a notch by focusing our attention on the current line of Apple computers and OS X. Victor is a “switcher” and, as of one week ago, so am I.

Victor's arguments and observations were spot-on when we recorded the interview at the end of September and are even more cogent in light of the recent release of both Microsoft Vista and the economically priced, Intel Core 2 Duo Apple MacBooks. On almost every technical point one could make – speed, elegance, quality, price, value, compatibility, OS capability and, strikingly, the ability to run Windows – Apple computers are now clearly superior to any other product. Victor helped to seal the deal for me by pointing to the value inherent in even the entry level line of computers they offer. Apple upped the ante by revamping the MacBook to Core 2 Duo functionality in the last few weeks.

So thank you Victor for the interview and your counsel; this podcast was produced on my new black MacBook. Have a listen (towards the end we also touch on the future of podcasting) and while you're at it, check out Victor's podcasts too.
