Link to the Show / Show NotesThis first episode is taken from the demo of this 1987 nationally syndicated radio show. I worked as John Madden's radio engineer for 2.5 years when he was on the RKO radio network and he gladly gave his testimonial to help me launch the show. We had 3 reporters, including myself, traveling for 3 weeks in Florida and Arizona visiting every team's Spring Training facility to gather as many interviews as possible. Packaged as a pregame show for radio stations, there were 162 episodes produced. Unable to get any sponsors then, we put the show to bed where it's been in hibernation ever since. Thanks to podcasting, it's a joy to be able to share them once again. Since the shows are archived either on reel to reel or cassette tapes, the quality may not be up to our normal digital standards, but I'll do my best. I don't intend to publish all 162 episodes, but if there's enough interest, I will package a boxed set of CDs with the entire set, including the 1986 version of A's Radio Baseball Cards with host Ray Fosse that got the ball rolling.
