Link to the Show / Show NotesThe Law was given by God to the nation of Israel at Mount Sinai in the Wilderness. Israel was to be God's nation--a people called out from all the nations of the world. As such, they were to live in relationship with God as a holy people.
The Law gave the righteous requirements by which Israel could approach a holy God, and by which they were to live under His rule.
For convenience, it is helpful to view the Law as containing moral, civil, and religious requirements.
In the New Testament we see that the Law was designed to be a tutor to lead us to the righteousness given in Jesus Christ.
