Rudolphe Kreutzer was known as the finest violinist of his day, but he wasn't too keen on the Sonata Beethoven dedicated to him - the Sonata in A major, Op.47. Now it's one of Beethoven's most popular works! We hear it played before a live audience in WGBH's studio One, by violinist Ilya Kaler and pianist Janice Weber. Beethoven: Sonata in A major, Op.47.
