Der Titel des Songs erinnerte mich daran wie ich die Verkäuferin, die im Supermarkt eines texanischen Kaffs, das an einem Highway irgendwo zwischen Dallas und Phönix liegt, fragte: “Excuse me I’m looking for bred?”, worauf sie mir antwortet – “Is he working here?”
Das hätte mir eigentlich schon reichen können, um “Brott und Butter” von “Exorciste de style” hier zu podcasten. Dieses Lied hat aber noch eine ganze Menge anderer angenehmer Assoziationen bei mir ausgelöst, zum Beispiel: Sahara, Kaffeetrinken in Marokko und Jede-Menge-Zeit-haben. Das hat dann letzten Endes mein Sendungsbewußtsein zum Agieren gebracht.
Rico der Macher von “Exorciste de style” hat kein Problem damit, dass sein Werk hier gepodcasted wird. – “Meine Musik ist dafür gemacht, um geteilt zu werden und ich mag Leute die wissen, was ‘fair use’ ist” – (Huch, hat er damit mich gemeint?)
“Warum aber für die Lieder des Projektes “Exorciste de style” ausgerechnet die Creative Commons – BY-SA 2.0? – “Ich habe diese Lieder unter eine Copyleft Lizenz gestellt, weil ich die Philosophie teile, die hinter Copyleft steht. Allerdings verwende ich bei anderen Projekten von mir, wie dem Loubia Dobb System, eine BY-NC-SA Lizenz oder eine Free Art Licence für wieder andere Projekte.”
“Bist Du ein professioneller Musiker?” – “Musik ist momentan ein Hobby für mich. Die meiste Arbeit widme ich eher der Seite auf der Du meine Songs gefunden hast und dem Verein der dahinter steht.” – Was die wenigsten wissen, Rico ist nämlich Präsident von Frankreich, einem teuren Restaurant an der Autobahn Deutschland – Lissabon. Ne, er ist in Wirklichkeit Präsident von Musique Libre! einem Verein aus Bordeaux, der mit dem Ziel gegründet wurde, Künstler zu fördern, die ihre Musik unter eine freie Lizenz stellen. Ausserdem administriert Rico die bereits erwähnte Seite Dogmazic.net auf der Künstler ihre unter einer freien Lizenz stehenden Lieder hochladen und anderen Nutzern somit zur mehr oder weniger freien Verfügung stellen.

The name of the song reminded me of when I asked the shop assistant in that supermarked in that small texan kaff somewhere on a highway between Dallas and Phoenix: “Excuse me I’m looking for bred?”, which she answered with – “Is he working here?”
But there were many other nice associations that came to my mind when listening to this song, like the Sahara, drinking coffee in Morocco and having plenty of time, that finally made me want to podcast this song.
Rico, the maker of “Exorciste de style”, hasn’t got a problem with me podcasting this song here. – “My music is designed to be shared, and I like people who know the meaning of ‘fair use’” – “So why the Creative Commons – BY-SA 2.0 – licence for the songs of this project “Exorciste de style”?” – “I’ve licensed these songs under copyleft license because I agree this philosophy. But, in some other projects like Loubia Dobb System, the tracks are under by-nc-sa, and I use a Free Art Licence for other projects.”
“Are you a professionel musician or what else are you doing?” – “Music is for me a hobby at the moment. My big occupation is this site and the non-profit behind it.” – Many people won’t have realized this yet, but Rico is the president of France, a rather expensive restaurant just outside Dover. No that’s not true. In reality he is of course president of Musique Libre! an non-profit organisation that is dedicated to the support of musicians and labels who work under free licences. Besides he is the admin and co-founder of Dogmazic.net where artists may upload their free licensed songs.
