Die süße Marie Claire hat einen gewissen Reiz. Sie ist sehr elegant und sie hat auch allerhand – was man sich denken kann, wenn man diesen Titel hört. Blöd ist nur: Sie ist billig, willig, nicht mehr ganz jung und besessen von Magersucht. Die Lyrics verraten noch mehr über diese seltsame “Marie Claire”.
Das Lied stammt von Pianist Fabrice und Sängerin Elsa, die zusammen Elfes sind. Die beiden kommen aus Montpellier an der südfranzösischen Mittelmeerküste.

FM: “Warum habt Ihr Eure Lieder unter die Creative Commons – BY -Lizenz gestellt und nicht unter die französische Licence Art Libre?”
Fabrice: “Naja, ich hatte nicht so viel Zeit um alle Lizenzen die es im Netz für freie Musik gibt genau zu erforschen. Was ich an der CC – Lizenz mag, ist, dass sie meine Rechte als Autor schützt und trotzdem vielen Menschen Zugang zu unseren Songs gibt.”
“Ich denke Musikhören über das Internet sollte kostenlos sein. Digitale Ressourcen kosten keine Unsummen und Künstler sollten eine andere Art der Entlohnung erhalten, z.B. für Auftritte. Außerdem halte ich das System für unfair: Britney Spears bekommt eine Riesenmenge und viele Musiker verdienen nicht genug um zu leben.”
FM: “Seid Ihr beide eher Berufsmusiker oder was macht ihr sonst noch so?”
Fabrice: “Wir können von unserer Musik leider nicht leben. Sie kostet durchaus etwas, also beispielsweise für Computer, Mikros und so, und bringt uns – rein finanziell gesehen: nichts! Sowohl Elsa als auch ich arbeiten im Bildungsbereich, Elsa als Dokumentalist und ich als Lehrer, um unsere Kinder durchbringen zu können.”
FM: “Tretet ihr ab und zu auch auf?”
Fabrice: “Wir haben mit unserer Cover-Band Pentatoniq oft Gigs am Rande von Montpellier. Allerdings finden wir es ziemlich langweilig die Lieder anderer Songwriter nachzuspielen, weswegen wir gerade dabei sind unsere eigenen Songs fit für Live-Auftritte zu machen. Ab Dezember werden wir dann mit unseren Songs auf Tour gehen.”

Sweet Marie Claire is quite attractive. She is very elegant and all that stuff – I suppose you know what I mean, when you listen to this song. The bad news is about her is: she is cheap to have for everyone (though she prefers to be bought by women), she is not the youngest girl anymore and still she is quite obsessed by her diminished appetite. If you dare to take a look into the lyrics of that song about her, you can find out even more bizarre things about her.
The song is by piano player Fabrice and singer Elsa, who together form Elfes. They are from Montpellier on the atlantic coast of southern France.

FM: “Why did you publish your songs under the Creative Commons – BY – licence and not under the french Licence Art Libre?”
Fabrice: “I did’nt look at all the licences you can find on the web for free music. What I liked is that this license protects my author rights, but give access to many people to our songs.”
“I think listening music should be free on the web, because digital ressources don’t cost a lot. Artists should have another remuneration (live…), and the system is not equitable : Britney Spears earns a lot, and a lot of musicians can’t earn enough to live.”
FM: “Are you professionell musicians or what else are you doing?”
Fabrice: “We can’t live from our music… It costs a little bit (computer, microphones…) but make us earn… anything ! So we both work in education (teacher and documentalist in a college) to feed the children !”
FM: “Do you sometimes play live gigs?”
Fabrice: “We often play live gigs in the edge of Montpellier with our cover band Pentatoniq. And, because we were fed up to play another songwriter’s music, we choose to compose the songs you’re listening. We are now working to play these songs live, I think in December.”
