Recent figures released from The Children?s Trust show that around 5,000 children in England every year sustain injuries that can leave them with a hidden disability, the equivalent of 157 classes of school children.
Acquired brain injury (ABI) can be caused by a traumatic injury to the head, such as a road accident or a fall and can have devastating effects. It can affect a child?s memory, physical skills, ability to concentrate in class, relationship development amongst peers and teachers and in some cases, it can even alter their personality.
