Aloha and mahalo for joining us on Doctor Trey's special edition podcast show. On this episode, Dr. Trey and Jroq are joined by Tiki from Milo Shade and myself, Mailani from Keahiwai as well as guest speaker, La'akea Suganuma. Although we are inthe midst of a highly diputed issue, items from the Forbe's collection of 1905, would it not be worthy of attention to be unbiased and listen to both sides of the story? While La'akea shares his mana'o (ideas, thoughts, opinions) on whether or not he sees these items as funerary, the importance of education as justifying the means for removal, as well as a strict timeline of events, we are given the opportunity to simply share thanks to the Doctor and J Roq with the use of their show! Even though this has been ongoing for more than 10 years within our communities, Hawaiian, non Hawaiian, and scientific, we are all in hopes of having peace with each other and within ourselves. Next week, we will be joined by someone who is in support of Hui Malama i na Kupuna o Hawaii nei who rejects the idea that these items should be recovered.
