Do we not all, no matter who we are or what our previous spiritual highlights have been, do we not always need assurances from the Lord, because we're so weak? Sometimes when we read the Scriptures we're so inhuman about the characters that we read about. I think when I get to heaven, certainly, and probably you too, I'll have to apologise to Jonah and to Peter and to Gideon - all these men that I've slated because of their unbelief! But the question is: where are you? Where am I? What would we have done in this particular situation?"
