Speakers: Lisa Anderson Dean, School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA); Introduction by Former Mayor David N. Dinkins; Keynote Address by David Jones, President of the Community Service Society. For the past twelve years, the Dinkins Leadership and Public Policy Forum has addressed many pressing issues including urban education, environmentalism, labor, community building, tourism, welfare to work, urban renewal, the Empowerment Zones, the role of affirmative action in higher education, immigration, and New York as a model for global cities. The 2007 forum will address efforts to understand and alleviate poverty in New York City and in other large urban centers around the world. Bringing together panelists who are experts in housing, health, and employment in both New York and major cities overseas, the forum will once again reflect the place of New York City in an ongoing global dialogue on critical public policy issues.
