I tried to limit the chatting this time. And I think every other word that came out of my mouth was “super”.
Music:
- Dance With Me :: Nouvelle Vague
This Lords of the New Church cover is my favorite on this Nouvelle Vague iTunes EP. It’s hotness.
This cover, in two words: Kicks Ass.
I can’t stop listening to it.
Thanks Bee.
- Let Me Know :: Yeah Yeah Yeahs
This is a bonus track from the “Gold Lion” single. I’m not too crazy about “Gold Lion”, so maybe next time.
- Trance Manual :: John Vanderslice
from the album, Pixel Revolt, which continues to grow on me.
I love this part:
Come to me now
You are warming weather
Come to me now
The kind that comes with
Sandbags along the river.
- Settle For A Draw :: Arctic Monkeys
Oh man, I freakin’ love this song!
from the When The Sun Goes Down – EP.
One of my new favorite bands. This song is so pretty, dance-y and straight-forward rawkin’.
- Sun, Sun, Sun :: The Elected
from Sun, Sun, Sun. Wow, this song kinda bums me out and that’s always good.
You should see them live. If not for the music, then to see how huge Blake’s eyes are. Nah, they’re awesome live. The band is pretty tight. Blake sings his heart out. Thumbs up.
from Set Yourself On Fire.
This song gave me one of those total overwhelming live show moments. You know, where I put the lens cap on, stopped breathing and kinda melted. And now it’s become a fave.
The tears were there, but I blinked a lot.
I love the part of the song which goes, “I dreamed I was dying as I so often do. And when I awoke, I was sure it was true”...
I don’t think there’s anything I can really say to give you an idea of how amazing this band sounds live. Amy Millan’s voice was absolutely glittering and pure.

Thank you all so much for listening and subscribing to my little podcast. And thanks to everyone who wrote me this week. I can’t tell you how much I enjoy the feedback.
And also, a huge thanks to Jason for the rad album art.
