Link to the Show / Show NotesThe membership drive is in the home stretch, only a week and a half left to go! The membership drive helps us pay our annual bills around here, as well as gives us an opportunity to expand and improve RSA. Luckily, those who donate get in line for a lot of really neat prizes! This week we take a peek at some of the really nifty new stuff that's been released recently. I'm especially talking about the new Cesium 137 disc, which has quite impressed me!
I just wanted to say thank-you to everyone who has donated to RSA this year. Whether it $5 or $500, I appreciate it when people part with their hard earned money to help keep us going!
Cesium 137 - Transient
Is that really Isaac? Man, I still can't get over how different he sounds when he's singing from when you're talking. Plus he HATES the picture of him I put up on the web site. I love tormenting my friends.
Virtual Server - My Inner Peace (Rename)
I swear to god, as much as I like this song, if you took out the vocals and threw De/Visions track "Turn Me On" over top it'd fit perfectly.
Rename - Everyone You Talk To (Club)
There, how about some more Rename to round out a nice synthy set. I really like club remixes of synthpop tracks, makes me want to boogie while I'm sitting here mucking with my WAV editor.
Level 2.0 - Betrayal
These have to be cool guys, they offered prizes for the membership drive! It was too late, but I could use a copy of the Betrayal single.
Tactical Sekt - Not Entertained
More "new" Tactical Sekt for you. I still don't undertsnad the "tinniness" of the production, but I want a new disc dammit! The bleepy melody in the background really caught my attention.
Dubok - Red Lights
The thing I like best about Dubok is the house influences. Especially in that they don't integrate that sound in a very typical way. It's different. I like that.
Blue October - Nervous Energy (Spiraling Square)
I swear I haven't heard anything from Blue October in years, but I may be mistaking them for someone else. My mind gets kinda cloudy when I try to think back farther than a few weeks.
Spetsnaz - Totalitar
I still don't understand this fascination with the old Nitzer Ebb sound. It's been done before. Mostly by Nitzer Ebb. But here's a track where Spetsnaz kind of breaks from that a little bit.
Real Synthetic Audio, it's not just a radio show, it's an experience. Really.
