To many of us the sound of crickets in September means the arrival of our favoritetime of year on Cape Cod. The water is cooling yet remains entirely swimmable. The peak crowds of August are gone but the activities and cultural events continue unabated. The neighborhoods are quiet again of cars and banging screen doors, but are no less lively. With no music or artificial elements, the sound of crickets on this recording begins with a modest chorus and progresses to a full symhpony.
