Episode 86 Featured Artist: Boole Album: The Vital Few www.myspace.com/boole Consume @ www.metropolis-records.com It's been five years since electronic anarchists Boole released their acclaimed "Pheromones," but the D.C. based troublemakers are back with excellent follow-up, "The Vital Few." As a quick (very quick, in fact) description for the uninitiated, know only this: Boole defy, plain and simple, mixing diverse styles such as psytrance and R&B, breaks and good ol' fashion industrial into their patented no-holds-barred musical melting pot. Since Pheromones, they've played shows with top-notch bands like Covenant, Iris, and And One, created the scene phenomenon Noonerschaft, and did epic remixes for bands like Stromkern (and we're not using the term "epic" lightly here), so they've been busy. The Vital Few is well worth the wait. We could be humble, but screw that-- Boole is the answer to the whiny masses that claim "There's nothing interesting in ebm/industrial anymore." They're that cool/weird kid in high school that sat alone in art class that everyone wanted to know. They're that band that all the cool bands like. So welcome to Boole, and welcome to The Vital Few. We could try and explain it further, but it's easier to say this: "Scene" purists will most likely not enjoy this. However, people who enjoy creative music that alternates between heartfelt sincerity and sonic insanity will. In other words, people with taste (or lack thereof) who don't want their music spoon-fed yet still want to shake their ass on the dancefloor. It ain't hard to listen to, but it also doesn't pander. It's uncompromising like underground music should be, and that's a beautiful thing So, again, welcome to The Vital Few." 01. Timeline 02. Wallflower 03. Anachron 04. Thelema 05. Coup d'Etat 06.
