THE STEELDRIVERS play what might be called bluegrass soul. Imagine a great bluegrass band playing with, say, Joe Cocker singing. You read right. The band is comprised of a group of veteran Nashville session players that have innumerable hits, cuts, and licks to their credit. They will be performing material from their self-titled debut CD on Rounder Records.

CARRIE NEWCOMER returns to the WoodSongs stage to perform material from her latest release The Geography of Light, her 11th release, also on Rounder Records. A native of Bloomington, Indiana, this critically acclaimed singer/songwriter is considered one of the definitive voices of the heartland. She has been an artist, a teacher, a truck stop waitress, a single mother, an activist and writes and sings about the human condition with compassion and clarity.
