We want to thank the sponsor of our show today www.lakefrontpros.com A national networking directory of lakefront professionals across the nation.
We had a very informative and essential show today as we enter into the spring and summer months on Lake Lanier, with the lowest water levels ever during this time of year. We interviewed the FIRST and ONLY female DNR Ranger on Lake Lanier. Listen in and hear her personal story and what brought her to her current position with the DNR.
If you own a boat, are thinking of purchasing a boat or PWC (personal watercraft), before you head out to have fun on the lake, we ask you to take the time to listen to this show FIRST. It can and will save lives!
We discussed sobering statistics about boating incidents, deaths and drownings, age limits for boating and PWC's, check list or "Float Plan" before you place your watercraft on the water, equipment that is required on boats and PWC's, "rules of the road" on the water, PWC navigation, safety, sharing your PWC and capsized PWC's.
**You Do NOT want to miss this part of the interview, especially if you are a new PWC (jet ski) rider.
We discussed basic navigation at night and in fog, proper etiquette for boating and riding PWC's plus skiing behind boats and PWC's.
We also discussed BUI (boating under the influence), dangerous boating, accidents and casualties on the lake. Listen in to hear about what Hall County has to offer on the lake and how they saved a life!
Finally, we discussed the boating safety course that the DNR offers for FREE. We recommend everyone take advantage of this invaluable resource.
The DNR also oversees Fishing, Hunting & Wildlife Conservation in Georgia among other things, so go to their website at http://www.gadnr.org and you will find it includes an abundance of important and informative information.
Lakefront Radio wants to personally thank Pamela Garrison and the DNR for all that they do to protect the millions who visit and recreate on our great Lake Lanier each and every year. We appreciate your dedication and service!
We also congratulate you Pamela for being the first and only female DNR ranger here on Lake Lanier!
