I kinda felt like hellish leftovers doing this podcast, hence the totally blah sounding voice.

This week’s music for ya:

  • Much Too Long :: The Sounds

from their latest release, Dying To Say This To You, which I am loving! I was bummed that I missed their Casbah show, but I’m seeing them at another show (yeah, I had a back-up show planned!) Marvy has been going on about them for a while now, fyi.

  • My Time Is Now :: Nicolai Dunger

from his thoroughly pleasant album, Here’s My Song. There’s an earlier podcast of mine where I played a track – him doing a rad cover of Alone Again, Or with Calexico. That’s a link there, it was in my “Why don’t you dance with me?I’m not no Limburger!” podcast.

  • Carolina :: Ben Gibbard

Oh, how I love thee, Benjamin.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Danny for making my week with the Ben tracks. Sigh. I love these songs. I guess it’s from a split EP? Home, or something like that?

  • Trust vs. Mistrust :: The Spinto Band

from the highly enjoyable, fun CD, Nice and Nicely Down. I love this song. It’s all sweet, cute and dancey. Not to mention, super fun to sing along to.

  • Private Eyes :: The Method and Result

A little H&O cover for y’all. I was originally going to play “Rich Girl”, maybe next time.

  • Queen Of The Cathode Ray :: The Mesmers

Thank you to Patrick for telling me about this band and for gifting me this track.

  • Watercolours Into The Ocean :: Destroyer

from the album, Destroyer’s Rubies. You know I never really gave Destroyer a good listen until my magically rad friend Bee (who’s a total music badass, btw) sent me some stuff, and I listened, and liked.

  • Eanie Meany :: Jim Noir

Yes, I’m going to play the whole album, Tower Of Love, eventually. I love this guy. A lot.

Thanks for listening to the podcast!

Have a super week.

Love,

Joy

(Haha. I thought it would be silly to end this post like that.)
