Today's podcast has two interviews; first up is Cameron Lewark of Spago on Maui. Our very own Marianne Schultz interviews Cameron, who was just named chef de cuisine of Spago. We also interview Tony Liu of August, located in New York. Tony was here in support of the Hawaii Statewide Student Culinary Competition at KCC. The wet weather has had a dramatic effect on local produce. We have a crop report detailing the losses. There are new restaurants opening. We discuss Rokkaku and Islands Fine Burgers & Drinks at the Ala Moana Shopping Center, and Uncle Bobo's Smoked BBQ in Kaaawa. One of our readers gives a thumbs up to Two Sisters Bento on Pensacola. Heckathorn's Hot Plate Beer Dinner is set for Thursday, April 13, at 6:30pm at J at the Willows. Chef Jay will prepare four courses that will be matched with Belgian or Belgian-style ale.
