Chair of the Department of Radiology at MUSC, Dr. Philip Costello, explains how the field of radiology has evolved to include interventional procedures. He describes some of the sub-specialties within interventional radiology, focusing on vascular intervention, treatment of tumors and blocked systems of the intestinal tract via catheters, and interventional oncology. Dr. Costello concludes by pointing out the benefits of MUSC’s team approach for determining and executing the best course of patient care.
