Jennifer O'Connor is one hard working lady! She has basically toured non stop (with the likes of The Mountain Goats, Portastatic, Mason Jennings, and most recently Jamie Lidell) since the 2006 release of her first album on Matador Records "Over The Mountain, Across The Valley, and Back To The Stars." Jennifer is currently on the road with Son, Ambulance and will THEN play a couple dates as the main support for Wilco, all leading up to her record release show at the Mercury Lounge in NYC. More dates TBD. Not to mention the fact that when she's not on the road, she runs her own label, KIAM Records, that specializes in 7" singles, most recently putting out a split with DUMP (James McNew of Yo La Tengo). "Here With Me" is her second album for Matador and was recorded, produced and mixed by John Agnello (Sonic Youth, The Hold Steady, Dinosaur Jr., etc) in Brooklyn over a span of 12 days! While her last album focused on personal tragedy and loss, the new one deals more with romance.
