The simplest way to get sound from your computer to your flat screen tv is to use an 1/8'' stereo audio cable (You can tell it's stereo because of the two stripes around the connector). The ends, or connectors look like what you would see on a pair of headphones. The 1/8" jack on your computer is usually marked by a headphones graphic. To get audio to your standard tv - you will probably need to use a 1/8" audio jack to rca adapter...
