This new moon, which also falls on American Thanksgiving Day, is in Sagittarius, the archer. Sagittarius, along with its companion planet Jupiter, brings us the gift of generosity and the wisdom that it is through such generosity and open mindedness that we grow. In astrological metaphor, the new moon is a time of unity, when the sun and the moon are so close together that the moon's reflected sunlight cannot yet be differentiated, or seen, as distinct from the sun. As the moon makes it's journey to a position in the night sky apparently opposite from that of the sun, it carries with it that quality to reflect the sun back to itself, and remind us that it is all one light.
