"God is the greatest" (four times) ?llahu ?kbar "I bear witness that there is no god except God" (twice) ?sh'hadu ?l l? ilaha ill?-llah "I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of God" (twice) ?sh'hadu ?nna m?hammadan ras?lu-llah "Make haste towards prayer" (twice) hayy? `al?-s-salat "Make haste towards welfare" (twice) hayy? `al?-l-fal?h "Prayer is better than sleep"* (twice) ?s-salatu kha?ru min ?n-na?m "God is the greatest" (twice) ?llahu ?kbar "There is no god except God" l? ilaha ill?-llah Adhan is called out from a minaret of a mosque five times a day (Sunni Islam) or three times a day (Shi'a Islam) summoning Muslims for Fard (mandatory) Salah (prayers).
