Souvenirs– Architecture In Helsinki: Fun band live. I’m so seeing them again in SD because I loved the Spaceland show. June 27th @ the Casbah.
Your Magic Is Working– Of Montreal: Andrew Morgan’s favorite love song, and probably one of mine as well.
Wouldn’t It Be Nice– The Beach Boys: Bill Ricchini’s favorite love song. When I hear this song, I always think it was written by twelve year olds. I mean really,“Wouldn’t it be nice if we were married…”?...etc. So totally the sentiments of a child.
Kiss You Better– Maximo Park: My favorite song off the album,“A Certain Trigger”. I love how you can detect the accent when he sings. Also at the Casbah on Tuesday, June 28th.
My Conversation– The Uniques: Sent to me by a friend who’s name also starts with“J”! I have many J-friends. It’s nice to hear something other than Bob Marley, which is all I have in the reggae-ish department.
Gemstones– Adam Green: I actually had a friend who I told about his show in Italy while she was vacationing there recently and she went! I love the various prescription drug references in this song. Not to mention the OTC (over the counter) variety, my favorite, Benadryl. That cutie pink pill.
I’m Gonna See You– That Dog: I love this song! I loved That Dog back when they played for free on college campuses and coffee houses. I love girls who RAWK!
You May Be Right– Billy Joel: I heart Billy Joel. Even if he’s a drunk, dirty old man. The dude wrote some hits! This one is in my top ten fave BJ songs. I love the line,”...You may be right, I may be crazy, but it just may be a lunatic you’re looking for…” Amen to that Billy!
