Born in Stockholm Anne Sofie von Otter studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London with Vera Rosza. She also attended classes in lied interpretation with Geoffrey Parsons in London and Erik Werba in Vienna.
Von Otter is a regular performer at Covent Garden, The Metropolitan Opera and in the opera houses of operas of Berlin, Munich, Rome and Milan's La Scala. Her repertoire encompasses a wide range of works from the Baroque to 20th century music in an international career that has now spanned more than two decades.
