Palm Sunday April 5, 2009
Rev. David Alexander
We are in the season of Easter, which is part of the overall season of our lives that are symbols of our journey of spiritual growth and development.
• We start with Advent, a hopeful journey, it is an embarking and the embodiment or the remembering to wake up
• Next comes Christmas, when the infant is born—it is the birthing of what we know, our divine son-ship
• Epiphany is next with the awakening into realization of being the divine son/daughter of god
• Lent brings us up to the embodiment of the Christ and releasing what no longer serves us. We must let go and cleanse
• Then we come to Easter and enter into the Christ
• Pentacost brings us to being the Christ in the world and remembering that the kingdom is here and now and that we have a gift to give right here on earth.
The Easter story is about content and context. Jesus wanted people to know that the kingdom of heaven is now. Easter is about what is happening in our consciousness. Jesus went into Jerusalem, which means the dwelling place of peace. That’s what we want to do and that how the Christ is awakened—in wholeness and inclusivity.
Jesus taught us to:
1. Live from a pure heart
2. Live anchored in the spirit
3. Follow the path of being born again daily
We are reborn into love and inclusivity.
Questions to ponder:
1. Can you make your life a shining new heaven? How will you start?
2. Is there enough evidence to “convict” you of being a New Thought Christian?
