Geri Jewell played "Jewel", the disabled woman who cleaned Al Swearengen's Gem Saloon, on the HBO Deadwood series. She originally came to fame playing "Cousin Geri" on the NBC sitcom "The Facts of Life." She was the first person with a disability to have a regular role on a prime-time series. She began her career doing stand up comedy at the Comedy Store in 1978. This is part of her presentation at the Deadwood Chamber of Commerce banquet in Deadwood, SD in 2005 where she was the featured speaker.
