My wife and I just came back from a camping trip. We
traveled over 2500 miles. We bought a new tent for the trip. We had
reservations for most of the campsites. Our trip took us through the Pacific
Northwest and into Canada. More specifically, Oregon, Washington, and British
Columbia. Mount Ranier was our favorite place. We set up our tent overlooking a
river. We took a mountain walk through meadows filled with flowers. In another
park our campsite was visited by foxes and deer. Of the cities we visited
Portland, OR, was our favorite. Most of the streets are lined with trees. And
the people seemed very relaxed. We took a ferry to Victoria in British
Columbia. It's a lot like the U.S there, but still different. Some of the
campgrounds we stayed in had hot showers. In the others we provided our own hot
water. We had new folding chairs with little side tables. We could always find
shade for a picnic lunch. I would estimate there are 200 to 300 campgrounds in
Washington and Oregon. Whether you camp or not, it"s a great place to visit.
