Bill Hedge of ApplauseCast interviews Latin Jazz vocalist Kat Parra on the occasion of the release of her debut album, BIRDS IN FLIGHT. She discusses her beginnings in Jazz, concert trips to Chile and recording dates in Cuba. Her music is an eclectic mix of Afro-Cuba, Brazilian, South Asian, and Spanish Sephardic influences. We’ll also be taking a JazzTrack of two songs found on her CD, BIRDS IN FLIGHT, featuring John Worley, Jr. on trumpet, Michael Spiro on percussion with Wayne Wallace on trombone and taking producer credits.
