Link to the Show / Show NotesWelcome to the extra special "Todd's on vacation but still doing RSA" show. Well, I can't afford to go to Europe more than once every other year, so sometimes I just have to spend a week drinking beer on patios and the like. It's also Pride weekend, so we have a few tracks for our very proud fill in DJ, Chris.
Sorry this update is a little late. Vacation breeds forgetfulness.
And One - Military Fashion Show (Naghavi)
I've mentioned that I think the And One sound is starting to get a little dated, but I don't really care. It's still darn good stuff if a little harder to mix due to this version being somewhat lo-fi.
Apoptygma Berzerk - Love To Blame (DJ Lee)
Here's proof that APB could still be making good music if they ditched the ballad rock thing they're on. An excellent remix. Hopefully they'll realise that no-one is actually playing the new disc. God, I hope no-one is.
XP8 - Bleed and Shout (Angels & Agony)
Seems like we've been playing these guys forever, and thats a neat feeling. It's nice to discover a band and watch them grow and expand.
Infekktion - Distress Signal (German)
You know, most "Terror EBM" sounds exactly the same. But there are always tracks that stand out and grab your attention. This one had me tapping my feet while listening, so I kinda took a step back and said "It's gotta be good if you're doing that!"
Agonoize - Bang Bang Goodbye
I swear these guys are machines. They seem to be putting out a disc of some sort or another every 4 months! Well, we had to have a terror EBM set to keep things somewhat stompy, and this track is pretty good except for the chaotic melody.
Chemlab - Scornocopia (Die Warzau)
OK, Chemlab haven't really interested my since Burnout at the Hydrogen bar and East Side Militia, but Die Warzau mixing them into incredible funkyness definately floats my boat.
Richter - Omen
We have to add a bit of simulated guitar every week. Or at least try. This one has a nice funky/different beat to it that caught my attention. A nice change from the usual 4 on the floor.
Combichrist - Get Your Body Beat
This one is just going to get machine gunned into the ground by hapless DJs trying to mix the current "en vogue" 130BPM stuff into this. It's not bad, but really just a bit more of the same from Combichrist.
Check out the show!
