Welcome back to The Word Is Grace.  We have gone through a lot this last two weeks. My main hard drive took a dive, and we had a death in the family, so I have been late in posting. This week, we pick up where we left off, starting in James chapter three.  James makes it clear that we should not rush to become teachers, because there is a more strict judgment for them. In James' day, there were many people who were trying to gain social prominence by becoming leaders in the Messianic community - much like there is today, unfortunately. We should take the teaching of God's Word with the utmost seriousness.  James goes on to tell us how damaging that our speech can be. How many of us have not experienced this to be true? We have all been on the receiving end of bad speech - and most of us have been on the other end as well, if we are honest. A spark arrestor on a weed-eater can keep a forest fire from starting in dry climate - I know from personal experience that sometimes I could all use a spark arrestor for my tongue. How about you? Have you ever caused damage with the words that you spoke? If so, you are not alone. May we all make it a priority to keep out tongues in check! May we repent of the "evil speech" and begin to be cautious of what we say; after all, we want our speech to be worthy of his Name, don't we?May the Lord bless you and keep you,Shabbat shalom!
