60 years ago, the construction of the Snowy River Scheme commenced. Until today, it remains one of the world’s biggest construction projects. Due to its importance, thousands of foreign workers were brought to Australia to finish the 25 year long endeavour on time. Among them were many Germans, Swiss and Austrian citizens.
