Link to the Show / Show NotesOn Monday November 16, 2009, the YWCA Greater Pittsburgh will celebrate its 18th annual Racial Justice Awards...........
Through the annual Racial Justice Awards, the YWCA seeks to promote a society in which all people receive equal treatment and have equal access in the workplace, public services, justice system, classroom, and throughout the Greater Pittsburgh community. Over the past two decades the YWCA has recognized over 100 community leaders that have made a substantial commitment to racial equality. .............
The YWCA believes that a celebration of racial justice and those who serve as leaders in the movement can reenergize our communities. Honoring the individuals and organizations that take the risks associated with making our world more racially equitable not only shows our appreciation for their actions but also encourages others to make a contribution of their own. The YWCA Greater Pittsburgh is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all..................Awardees..............Community Engagement,Grace Robinson, LUTC, MBA, Agent, State Farm, Founder
