WiFi connectivity allows users to program the thermostat from anywhere, anytime – and the ecobee Internet portal provides other “goodies,” such as data to analyze usage – this is future! Now our Smart Thermostats are “ZigBee Smart Meter certified.” This means that the thermostat can communicate with utilities’ smart meters, and has been certified to do this. This is the future of the energy business! Utilities have to avoid blackouts and brownouts and control peak energy usage, and consumers need a way to have more control over their own use of energy, and this technology facilitates both.
