Iâm still on the fence about doing the Prologue to Canterbury Talesâmostly because finding a translation I like in the public domain is gonna kill me. (I got spoiled using that sterling one when writing curriculum.)
Regardless the Chaucer drama, there will be Flatland!
O yes.
There will be.
Narrated by my very own Dad. Ainât he a trooper. He also has a lovely baritone, so I think youâll find it soothing. Actually, come to think of it, he read Roughing it and Ben Franklinâs Autobiography to us before I turned 13âand I liked and remembered those books, so you have to figure heâs pretty good.
Plus he has a beard like Pa Ingalls, so how can you go wrong, eh?
Alice in Wonderland is tabled for nowâall who wrote in agreed that the language play is too visual (like The Phantom Tollbooth) for you to really hear the jokes. There was a suggestion for The Secret Garden after Flatlandâand I have to sayâIâm intrigued. I think itâs down to that or Connecticut Yankee.
