Charles Spencer is one of the world’s most sought-after accompanists. He is renowned for his lied interpretation and has accompanied distinguished singers the likes of Jessye Norman, Thomas Quasthoff and Peter Schreier, and for over a decade, was the pianist of the renowned mezzo-soprano Christa Ludwig, until she retired in 1994.
Charles Spencer is Professor of Lied Interpretation for singers and pianists at the Hochschule für Musik in Frankfurt and gives regular masterclasses in Austria, Germany, Japan, Iceland and Israel.
