Just like for our Thanksgiving episode, our holiday episode only vaguely has anything to do with the holiday we're celebrating, though it does include one of the funniest gift giving sequences we've ever seen. Cult fave 'Better Off Dead' comes from an era of innocent, silly, satirical film making that we just can't generate any more. Super wacky, but it doesn't take the audience's intelligence for granted. Not to mention almost every line in the film is quotable to some degree, and the premise has been ripped off for countless parodies (even a South Park episode). I guess all this accolade makes it even more tragic that John Cusack reviles this film, even though it's one of the films that helped put him on the map. What's that you say? Controversy?
