Every year, the Art Of Beatz welcomes the rampaging beast that is the Vancouver New music Festival with open arms. This year the 2009 Vancouver New Music Festival will focus on copyright and appropriation, and will be presenting musicians who have been working and reflecting on issues related to copyright/copyleft, using mash-ups and sonic collages and other approaches. Being crate diggers and sampledelic ourselves, we'll be down front each night, but to help celebrate this year's edition, we'll be talking to a guy who we know and love, Scanner.
