General Mac House cleaning
- reboot every couple of days if you keep you Mac on 24/7
- keep your software up-to-date (Mac OS and applications)â
- back up before performing any maintenanceâ
- before performing maintenance quit all applications
Recommended monthly maintenanceâ- repair system/disk file permissionsâ- manually run daily, weekly & monthly maintenance scripts
Recommended six month preventative maintenance â
- zap parameter ram (PRAM) - hold down Command, Option, P, and R
â- rebuild LaunchServices
- rebuild or delete System, User, Internet, and font caches
