Link to the Show / Show Notes What is the best way to know the difference between that which is real or fake? The best way is to be so familiar with the real that the false stands out as a fake. John tells us that we can spot the spirit of the Anti-Christ, or Anti-Messiah, because we have been given the anointing of the true Messiah by the Father, or the ‘Holy One.’ In 1 John 2:20 we could read John’s words as, “Because the Holy One has ‘Messiahed’ you with the real Messiah, Yeshua, you know all things about the dangers of Anti-Messiah.” We should be so familiar with God’s Word - so familiar with His will, that when heresy comes along, or a false messiah shows up saying, “follow me!” We can know without hesitation that it is not of God. We are living in strange times. Today, there are many people on the scene that are actually calling themselves the ‘Christ;’ ...but that seems pretty easy to spot as heresy. Another spirit of Anti-Christ that is spreading through out the church today, and is much more subtle is a movement called the “Emergent Church” which claims that spirituality from all religions has a place in Christianity. The authority of the scriptures is being eroded, and in some cases, violently stripped away from the doctrine of today’s church. John gives us the tools we need to point out the spirit of Anti-Christ. He tells us that we have been Messiahed; and because we have been Messiahed, we will be able to spot the Anti-Messiah. All we need to do is walk in that anointing; to abide in Messiah Yeshua. So... how do we do that? Come along and listen, as we learn what John has to say about it in this week’s The Word Is Grace.
