"The Lord's Prayer,"rather than being a specially worded incantation of sorts, is actually a model prayer that Jesus taught his disciples, as we see in today's edition ofThe Living Word. The disciples ask Jesus how they should pray (not what they should pray), and Jesus presents them with this prayer outline that they can use as a model for their own. (Elsewhere in the Bible Jesus speaks out against repeating the same prayer over and over.)
