鲁迅公园

Lu Xun Park, near Hongkou Stadium, is a great place to sample Shanghai park life at the weekends. Lu Xun Park dates from the late 19th century and at first was for westerners only.

Finally opened to Chinese people in 1928, the park became a favorite meeting place for Shanghai people as the surrounding area as a whole became part of the Japanese Concession before World War II.

In 1956 the writer Lu Xun's Mausoleum and Museum were built in the park to mark the 20th anniversary of the great novelist's death. The park was officially renamed Luxun Park in 1988. The writer's former residence is just south of the park on Shanyin Lu (Lane 132, House #9).
