THE TENNESSEE MAFIA JUG BAND with LEROY TROY are a frolicking fivesome that brightens up the stage with rib-tickling old time tunes. From the musical home of Bill Monroe, Bashful Brother Oswald, Stringbean, Grandpa Jones, Keith Whitley and some living country music performers, comes the most entertaining "blast from the past" since Lester Moran and the Cadillac Cowboys. They're five guys and a scrubboard, with roots as deep as wisdom teeth. They will joined on stage with the old time banjo master Leroy Troy who wowed the WoodSongs audience a couple of months ago (See show #585).

THE SWEETBACK SISTERS sing country songs in close, surrogate-sister harmony and matching dresses. Their charismatic charm harkens back to the golden era of both the silver screen cowgirl and the old-time cowboy stars of local UHF TV kiddie shows, wrapped around a core of deeply felt love for traditional country music styles and a palpable joy in playing and singing together. Their first full-length album "Chicken Ain't Chicken" was released on Signature Sounds Recordings and has created quite a stir.
