Link to the Show / Show NotesOur ninth lecture and the last of our 2006 series is on the topic of global warming. This topic covers a discussion of what evidence there is for global warming and how scientists investigate such large-scale questions as those that are involved in studying climate change. Then, we will turn to looking at the environmental impact of global warming with humans being part of that environment that is affected. What do melting global ice reserves mean for drinking water and sea levels and how might a change in just a few degrees of temperature impact health and disease? Lastly, will explain some of the proposed global warming solutions you may have heard about. In this lecture, Benjamin Wolfe discusses the science behind conducting experiments involving climate change, how scientists conduct such experiments, and what degree of agreement there is in the scientific community over the results.
